Pain Mapping

Pain mapping is a very effective procedure that helps pinpoint and isolate the sources of pain that is coming from the neck, back, or other areas. Often times when patients are experiencing pain, it is hard to pinpoint the exact root of the pain.  Patients will usually feel the pain coming from a general area, if pressure is applied, or they feel a numbing.  With pain mapping, we can use sophisticated instruments and techniques to find out exactly where the pain is coming from, which allows us to give a more accurate diagnosis and treatment to heal the patient quicker and more effectively.

How Pain Mapping Works

There are a variety of different pain mapping techniques that can be used to pinpoint the pain coming from a certain area of the body. Depending on the area of the body where the pain is coming from, the physician will choose the best pain mapping technique.  However, they all follow generally the same series of procedures.  The doctor will usually perform a series of small injections that are precisely targeted to find out where the pain is coming from.
